i have windows firewall, avast anti virus free version,pc tools spyware doctor free but i still have virus prob?

Spyware Doctor

the minute that i enter the internet my pc gets full of viruses.what is the prob?maybe the firewall its not good enough?plzzzzzz help

Chosen Answer:

Spyware Doctor

Yeah, I would do exactly as Grissom says….

Although… Avira free does NOT have a firewall. Only the paid version gives you that. The AntivirGuard that he is referring to is the “Real-time” file guard so you would still need a good 2-way firewall… and I would recommend leaving it on for your own protection… It will protect you in real time, you can always do a on-demand at any time…

EDIT: Yeah, I’m with Willy on this one…If he’s getting that many viruses that his Avira is giving him pop-ups a lot, he may not have his AV set-up correct. He’s getting more than a normal amount of alerts… I hope he figures out that the AntivirGuard he thinks is a firewall is not and gets a good 2-way one… Yeah Willy, I think he is picking up tracking cookies…and he really should leave his real-time AntivirGaurd on to stop the infections…

GOOD LUCK !!!

this is the reason avast has a boot time scan. I strongly suggest you use that before you try anything else.

Try updating your programs. Your problem I think is spyware. For spyware, I recommend using SUPERAntiSpyware or McAfee.

If you’re using IE, and have the active x enabled, this will happen a lot.
Switch to Firefox, with ‘NoScript’ add-on; then clean up your malware issues.
This does not permit total impunity from malware; intentionally using peer-to-peer files shares, or going to the darker side of the internet will still be a 50/50 chance of re-infection.

Windows firewall isn’t that great but a firewall doesn’t prevent ‘viruses’, it blocks hackers. The free version of Spyware Doctor doesn’t provide the protection the full version does, you’d be better off using SuperAntiSpyware. Avast is very good but no program can be guaranteed to protect you 100%, and I don’t think any anti-virus or anti-spyware program will protect you adequately from XSS attacks.

However, I’m wondering from your description if your ‘viruses’ aren’t cookies, which are harmless.
